I came across this website looking for a reason my son and I have been so sick this winter, and between the 2 of us we have EVERY symptom of being mildly allergic to mold, and upon looking I have found mold in MANY corners of my home, from my doors and windowsills, to under my sink and in my bathroom. My question is, is there any way to tell if this is the BLACK mold? it looks just like the pictures I am finding on the internet, but you know what they say about believeing everything you see online....I am concerned because we have been VERY sick this winter, long term sick, and I have been so tired I can not function, with debilitating headaches. Is there some way to be tested to see if that is what is going on? Or to test the mold and see if that is what is causeing it? ( I clean and clean and clean the mold, i have tried everything from bleach to products claiming to remove and retard new growth on the mold and it is back with in a weeks time.) I am tired of living like this and if the mold is what is doing it I will move no matter the cost!! We live in Western Oregon, so it is always damp and does not get too cold.......

I think you made a wise decision to move! Hopefully you will not have lingering problems from the black mold in that place. Thank you for your black mold story!

I had a mold problem in my apartment a few years ago and my main symptoms were on-going fatigue and persistent headache. Neither of these were super severe (I was still able to go to work, etc.) but definitely a pain. I eventually had to move out of the apartment.

When molds dry out is when they become dangerous. Wet mold like under a bath mat doesn't have flyoff of spores because they (spores) are heavy with wetness. After a mold dries out it becomes light weight and will fly off into the air.
